Horoscopes for week beginning 25 August 2008

Aries
This week marks an important turning point, with the Sun's departure from your romantic sector over the weekend, allowing Mars' new position in your relationship sector to gain your full attention. Mars, planet of passion and your ruling planet, is a warrior energy and as the planet of war he loves to stir things up, regardless of the consequences. This may create a situation where things get worse before they get better, for Mars has to create breakthroughs and he's not going to do that gently or in a way that spares your feelings. Aim to get as many things out in the open as possible and get as real as you can. It's once Mercury, planet of communication, arrives on Friday and Venus, planet of love, arrives on Saturday that things fall into place and settle down.

Taurus
As far as weeks go, this is an important week because of the shifts of energy and focus, without the main theme changing, which is still that of romance. The Sun's move into your romantic sector over the weekend sees the week begin with the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Saturn all in your romantic sector. Had Mars stayed around for just a few more days, this would have made this an even more spectacular line up, even though it is still a once in a century event. With Mars' ghost still lurking and a sense of passion in the air, throw yourself into making the most of Mercury and Venus' final few days, where they are bringing heart and mind together. Mercury leaves on Friday and Venus on Sunday, the same day that a New Moon is destined to open new doors.

Gemini
You reach an important turning point this week, with new opportunities on the romantic front, at the same time that there are second chances on the relationship front. Mars, planet of passion, moved into your romantic sector last week and on Friday he is joined by Mercury, planet of communication and on Sunday by Venus, planet of love. This creates a situation where in the space of 12 days, your romantic sector will have moved from one of the most inactive parts of your chart, to the most active. This happens just as Pluto is reaching the deepest point in the retrograde phase of his return to your relationship sector, where you are deciding, or more appropriately your heart is deciding, what you need to leave behind and what you need to take with you, into the future.

Cancer
With Jupiter, planet of luck, now in his final 2 weeks in retrograde motion in your relationship sector and with the promise of some very romantic months, due to kick off later next month, communication and giving your heart a voice becomes even more important. At the same time that you're preparing for the future, you have a chance to go back in time and either bury any old ghosts for good or decide what to take with you, into the future. Either way, your heart and mind need to be working as one, without either over ruling the other. More than ever before, keep the communication lines open, realising that it is less about whether anyone else is listening or even there to listen, than it is about giving your heart a voice.

Leo
Communication is a huge theme this week, even though at the start of the week this might be causing some problems. Mars, planet of passion and the warrior planet of the solar system, moved into your communication sector last week. Mars loves to stir things up and lacking any PC skills, he often comes in wearing his planet of war hat. Don't worry about stirring things up or even if you're having more arguments, especially with yourself. Trust that this is part of the process as you move away from some challenging relationship months and a new sense of urgency sets in on the romantic front. It is the arrival of Mercury, planet of communication and Venus, planet of love, into your communication sector, Mercury on Friday and Venus on Sunday that gives your heart the voice it needs.

Virgo
Your Venus return winds up this week with Venus, planet of love and romance, leaving your sign on Sunday. That gives you the whole week to soak up as many Venus vibes as you can, knowing that if this is the start of a brand new Venus cycle, then how you begin and what you expect from the future, will determine your reality. With Jupiter, planet of luck, due to turn direct in your romantic sector early next month, trust that no matter what your love life looks like now, there are some very lucky romantic months ahead. While there is pressure on your relationship sector, from the stars moving through your sign, this is simply part of the process of waking you up, ensuring that you don't fall asleep at the wheel.

Libra
When the Sun moved out of Leo over the weekend, everything changed, for it took the pressure off your romantic sector, ending a period of challenge that began back in May. It's not just what this has ended that is important, for what is important is what this begins. That pressure was part of a process of getting you to raise the bar and expect more from love and it was also the only hurdle that stood between you and a very lucky romantic future ahead. With that hurdle gone, you have an unobstructed view of where you are going and the view is spectacular. This is topped off by Venus' arrival into your sign on Sunday, kicking off one of the most important Venus cycles on record.

Scorpio
Move into the week aware that on all sides, there are forces at work that are operating through a sense of synchronicity, with a need to let fate take the lead. It was the Sun's move into your friendship sector, a very social part of your chart that operates under the rules of synchronicity that adds to the pressure that Saturn, Venus and Mercury are already putting on Uranus, moving through your romantic sector. Uranus is the planet that rules through the sense of synchronicity and is the planet of surprise and the unexpected. This puts pressure on both sides to let things happen naturally, with any tension in your love life, likely to be coming from the fact that you're trying too hard or you're not letting Mother Nature do her job.

Sagittarius
While some of the most driven and competitive professional stars don't just dominate your chart but become even stronger this week Venus, planet of love, is caught up in the fever. This is giving your heart a real sense of competitiveness that needs to be handled carefully. Avoid at all costs turning love into a competition or to create a situation where there are winners and losers. When you try and play the right game, where you are right, that means someone has to be wrong and that's when your relationships suffer. Create the kind of romantic goals and expectations that will act as such powerful beacons, that staying on course and on track will be a no brainer.

Capricorn
As far as your heart is concerned, there is a real shift in focus this week, one that is already underway as the week begins and will be all but complete, by the time the week ends. Mars, planet of passion, moved out of a very adventurous part of your chart last week, into a much more competitive part of your chart, while at the start of the week the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Saturn are still in a very adventurous mode, where they are encouraging you to keep your options open. Venus and Mercury in particular are more concerned about getting out of a romantic rut, without focusing too much on what you'll do, once you're on the other side. That changes over the course of the week when Mercury on Friday and then Venus on Sunday, join forces with Mars, becoming a lot more goal focused.

Aquarius
The Sun's departure from your relationship sector over the weekend has a huge impact on your relationships, because of what is now missing, which is pressure. Ever since Mars first moved into your relationship sector in May, followed by Mercury and Venus and lastly by the Sun, your relationship sector has been a source of both tension and opportunity. With the tension gone, the opportunity remains and is now going to take over. Just as the tension eases on the relationship front, Venus and Mercury are already becoming a lot more urgent, as they get ready to leave a very passionate part of your chart that rules the concept of change. You know what doesn't work and what you don't want and now it's time to focus on what will work and what you do want.

Pisces
The Sun moved into your relationship sector over the weekend, with the week beginning with a line up that includes the Sun, Saturn, Mercury and Venus. While the Sun spends his first full week in your relationship sector, Mercury and Venus are spending their last with Mercury, planet of communication, leaving on Friday and Venus on Sunday. This brings a sense of urgency when it comes to opening the communication lines and listening to your heart, when it comes to the follow through you have more than enough time. With Saturn here until next October and a lot of water due to cross under the bridge between now and then, this is more about putting your relationships on the right path, than it is about reaching any conclusions. It's all about the journey and where you're going.
